About Kianna J. Thompson, LPC
Founder of H.A.N.D.S. 2017 LLC
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am deeply passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health and empowering children, teens, and young adults to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. My heart lies in helping each client overcome emotional, behavioral, and situational barriers so they can thrive and reach their fullest potential.

What I love most about being a counselor is the opportunity to bring creativity and connection into my work. Every client is unique, and I enjoy using personalized, hands-on strategies that create real, meaningful change in their lives. My approach is rooted in teamwork — I believe true progress happens when clients feel supported, heard, and understood. Together, we set goals, explore obstacles, and celebrate every step forward.

“Reshaping the community” has always been the driving force behind H.A.N.D.S. 2017 LLC (Helping Achieve New Developmental Stages). Our mission is to leave a lasting imprint on the children and families we serve so that the impact echoes throughout the community. We are proud to serve areas where there is a need for academic and social support — offering both educational and therapeutic services designed to uplift and empower.

Our journey began in 2017 with the launch of our tutoring program and community givebacks. By 2020, we expanded to include therapeutic services such as individual, family, and group counseling — bridging the gap between academic growth and emotional wellness.

With a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology and an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling, I’ve dedicated my career to creating spaces where young minds can grow strong, healthy, and confident. My experience working in the Stamford Public School District and volunteering with youth programs has shaped the foundation of this work.
At H.A.N.D.S. 2017 LLC, we believe every child deserves the chance to succeed! Regardless of their circumstances. Our goal is simple: to support, inspire, and help them achieve new developmental stages one step at a time.
